How does it work?

The PiQo4 is a laser that does not use heat. Instead, it uses acoustics for neocollagenasis. Since heat is not the primary source of energy, it is safer to use on lighter and darker skin. First, you’ll see an immediate improvement in skin texture. Second, the laser stimulates the body’s natural healing process which encourages the production of collagen and elastin.

This process, called neocolloagenasis, will take place in the coming months.

When will I see results?

The treatment works with your skin to stimulate deep collagen regeneration over a sequence of treatments. Already after the first session, you may begin to notice the improvement in skin texture and pigmentation.

Typically, about 3 sessions are needed to have a visible improvement in the skin texture. Optimal results are typically achieved after 3-5 sessions in 2-6 weeks intervals. However, you may continue to see improvements for up to six months following the treatment.

What can I expect after treatment?

Every treatment is customized to your individual needs, and you’ll receive post procedure instructions from your provider. In general, you can expect your skin to have a pinkish tone for 1-4 hours, and brown spots to appear lighter in appearance on the day after the treatment.

What is the treatment like?

Your practitioner will provide guidelines for before and after care, as well as the approximate time of the session. During your session, you will hear the laser emits as loud, audible popping sound, then feel heat over the general area of the skin. The treated area will feel as if it were sunburned; tight and dry.

Is it right for me?

PiQo4 skin resurfacing and pigmentation treatments are not suitable for everyone and may carry some risks. Persons known to form skin keloids may be more prone to scarring after any skin trauma, including laser treatment to the skin. Persons with dark skin may be at increased risk of hypopigmentation.

Hypo and hyper-pigmentation are a common risk of treatment. Be sure to consult with your treatment provider before choosing this treatment.
