Understanding Acne Scars

Acne scars come in various forms, and identifying them is key to choosing the right treatment:

Ice Pick Scars: Deep, narrow scars resembling large pores or deep holes.
Box Scars: Wide, box-shaped scars with steep walls.
Atrophic Scars: Thin, stretchable, and depressed areas that smooth out when stretched.

We start by treating Box Scars and Ice Pick Scars to make them shallower, then proceed with similar treatments used for Atrophic Scars.

Our Acne Scar Treatments

Box Scars & Ice Pick Scars

For deep, firm scars that cannot be filled with fillers, we use TCA Cross (Trichloroacetic Acid), applying a high concentration (50-100%) directly to the scar depths. This:

Creates controlled collagen production.
Stimulates healing and skin regeneration.

Note: Patients with darker skin types (4+) may need a skin-lightening regimen before and during treatment.

Atrophic Scars

These scars are treated using Radio-Frequency Microneedling (RFMN):

Micro needles deliver RF energy at precise depths to break scar tightness and generate collagen.
Ablative RFMN (better results, longer downtime) or Non-Ablative RFMN (shorter downtime, suitable for all skin types).

Sessions: 3-6 treatments for optimal results.
Fractional CO2 laser can also be used as alternative to RFMN for lighter skin tone 2-4 treatments will provide optimal results

Redness in Scar Base: 1064 Vascular Laser

Targets redness caused by tiny capillaries within the scar.
Reduces redness and improves scar visibility over time.

Bellafill & Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

For deeper scars, we use fillers like:

Bellafill: Long-lasting correction for wrinkles and acne scars.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: Add volume, reduce lines, and smooth out scars.
Often combined with Subcision, where scars are released with a small needle to enhance filler effectiveness.

Downtime: Minimal.
Session Duration: A few minutes to an hour.

Other Treatments for Enhanced Results

Microneedling: Boosts collagen through mechanical stimulation. Ideal for regular treatments (every 4-6 weeks for 8-12 sessions).
Skin Peels: VI Peels or Salicylic Acid Peels, every 6 weeks, to complement other treatments.
