What Is Sculptra® Butt Enhancement?
Sculptra® is a collagen‑stimulating injectable that provides natural‑looking volume and contour over time. For the buttocks, it is used to enhance projection, correct hip dips, and improve overall shape and smoothness without surgery or implants.
Treatment Details
- Best suited for clients seeking subtle lift, roundness, or diagonal contour (projection plus hip dips).
- Typically requires 20–30 vials total for visible results in an average‑sized person.
- Treatments are done in 2–3 sessions of about 10 vials each to ensure comfort and optimal pricing.
- Results appear gradually over 3–12 months and can last years, especially when body weight is stable.
Pre‑Treatment Care
- Avoid blood‑thinning medications and supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, vitamin E, fish oil, ginkgo biloba, garlic, flax oil, cod liver oil, St. John’s Wort, etc.) for 7–10 days before treatment if approved by your doctor.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine for at least 24–72 hours before your appointment.
- Avoid products that may irritate the skin (Retin‑A/tretinoin, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, hydroquinone) for 2–3 days before treatment.
- You may take arnica tablets 2–3 days before your appointment to help reduce bruising.
- Finish any antibiotics at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
- Schedule dental work and vaccines at least 2 weeks before or after your session.
- Notify your provider if you have a history of cold sores/herpes; antiviral medication may be recommended.
- Arrive with clean skin and no makeup, creams, or lotions on the treatment area.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
- Do not schedule if you have a rash, open sore, or infection in the treatment area.
- Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have allergies to any ingredients.
Post‑Treatment Care
- Apply ice packs or cold compresses (wrapped in a cloth) to the area for 10–20 minutes at a time, several times a day for the first 24–48 hours. Avoid firm pressure and never apply ice directly to the skin.
- Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days (“rule of 5s”).
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, hot tubs, saunas, and hot baths for 24–48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours after treatment.
- Stay well hydrated; drink plenty of water to support healing and collagen production.
- Wear loose, breathable clothing for comfort.
- You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for discomfort; avoid NSAIDs (Motrin, ibuprofen) for 24–48 hours.
- Use arnica supplements or topical arnica to help reduce bruising.
- Avoid makeup on the treated area for 12 hours.
- Avoid laser, IPL, or skin tightening treatments in the area for at least 2–3 weeks.
- Watch for signs of infection (increasing redness, pain, swelling, warmth, or pus) and contact your provider if these occur.
- Mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness are normal and may last up to 1–2 weeks.
What to Expect
- Swelling and bruising are common and usually resolve in 1–2 weeks.
- Asymmetry, lumps, or bumps may occur but usually resolve with massage and time.
- Results are gradual and may take several months and multiple sessions for full effect.
