Botox & Neuromodulators
- Mechanism: Temporarily relaxes muscles to soften expression lines
- Onset: 1–3 days | Full effect: 7–14 days | Duration: 3–5 months

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Technique: Mostly done using a cannula to reduce bruising and vascular risk
Neurotoxin Pre‑Treatment Care
- Arrive with a clean face, no makeup
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine and smoking for 24–48 hours before treatment
- Avoid unnecessary blood‑thinning medications and supplements for 7 days before treatment if medically permitted
- Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating products 2–3 days before
- Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing or hair removal creams on the treatment area for 2–3 days
- Do not schedule if you have a rash, cold sore or infection in the area
- Notify your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of cold sores, are taking antibiotics or have important events within 2 weeks of treatment
- Eat a small meal or snack before your appointment
- Inform your provider about all medications, supplements and recent vaccinations
- Schedule treatment at least 2 weeks before any major event
Neurotoxin Post‑Treatment Care
- Stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment
- Avoid touching, rubbing or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and hot tubs for 24 hours
- Avoid facials, microdermabrasion or massages on the treated area for 7–14 days
- Do not wear hats or headbands on the treated area for 1–2 days
- Use gentle face washing; avoid scrubbing or vibrating cleansing devices for 2 weeks
- Exaggerated facial expressions (frowning, raising eyebrows, squinting) are recommended for 1 hour after treatment to help the neurotoxin bind
Filler Post‑Treatment Care
- Expect swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness or firmness at the injection sites; these typically resolve within a few days
- Apply ice packs wrapped in a cloth for 15 minutes every hour for the first 12 hours
- Avoid touching, massaging or applying pressure to treated areas for at least 24–48 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and hot environments for 24 hours
- Wait until the next day to apply makeup, cleansers or moisturizers on the treated area
- Sleep with your head elevated and avoid sleeping on your side or stomach for 24–48 hours
- Avoid facials, massages or aggressive skin treatments for 2 weeks
- Avoid wearing tight‑fitting goggles or glasses for at least 72 hours if filler was injected near the upper cheek or under‑eye area
- You may take acetaminophen (Tylenol) for mild discomfort
- Bruising may worsen before it improves and can last up to 2 weeks
- Contact your provider if you experience severe pain, blanching, dusky or white skin or signs of infection
